    With Holiday Credits you can pay for your holiday now with your Westpac hotpoints credit card, and then redeem your hotpoints to help pay back all or part of those travel purchases, up to 3 months after the purchase date.

    All you need is 2,220 hotpoints, which equals $10 of Holiday Credits. You can then redeem any amount of hotpoints over 2,220 and we'll calculate the dollar and cents value to credit your Westpac hotpoints credit card account.

    Holiday Credits enables you to purchase any flight with your Westpac hotpoints credit card and redeem your hotpoints to help pay it back. This includes flights on any airline in the world and any special deal you see!

    You can also use Holiday Credits to help pay back accommodation costs, tickets for sightseeing tours, long-haul train or bus travel, car rental, purchases at local and international travel agencies, airport transfers and even your airport tax.

    Just select the travel purchase* and how many hotpoints you want to redeem for it and we'll sort it all out for you! Your redemption will then show up as a dollar credit onto your credit card account within a few days.

    Either complete your redemption online following the steps below, or call us on 0800 861 862, weekdays from 8.30am - 5.00pm to redeem your hotpoints for Holiday Credits.

    * Please note purchases made on your credit card may take at least 2 business days to appear in the hotpoints system

    Redemption checklist
    1. Check your credit card statement or online banking account to confirm the name, date and amount of your qualifying travel purchase. If you've made your purchase overseas or we can't easily identify it as being travel-related, you may need to provide proof of purchase, so keep hold of your receipts.

    2. Make sure you redeem as soon as you can. If more than three months have passed we won't be able to make your Holiday Credits redemption for that purchase.

    Online redemption steps
    1. Open the "Request a Holiday Credits redemption" tab and your qualifying travel purchases for the past three months will be listed (all qualifying travel purchases may not be shown). If one of your travel purchases isn't listed please call us to see if it qualifies (please note that you may need to provide proof of purchase).

    2. Simply tick the purchases you wish to redeem hotpoints for, the total dollar amount to be credited and equivalent hotpoints amount will automatically update. If you wish to use less hotpoints you can change the hotpoints amount you wish to redeem, this will change the dollar amount credited to you.

    3. Also provide your mobile number and email address in case we need to contact you about your Holiday Credits redemption.

    4. When you are ready click "Redeem now". A confirmation message will display on screen and your order will be processed within five business days.

    Holiday Credits can be used to pay for the following types of qualifying travel purchases:

    • Airline travel
    • Car rental
    • Cruise tickets
    • Long-haul Rail travel (must be non-commuter)
    • Long-haul Coach travel (must be non-commuter)
    • Purchases made at New Zealand and international travel agencies
    • Accommodation (including but not limited to, hotel accommodation, backpackers, self catered apartment and villas, holiday rentals)
    • Local and International travel purchases through online travel websites (including but not limited to, wotif, expedia, lastminute, TravelBug.co.nz)
    • Travel insurance purchased through Westpac and/or the underwriter of insurance on Westpac credit cards
    • Airport transfers
    • Airport tax
    • Sightseeing tours and overseas tourist attractions/theme parks
    • Other travel related expenditure at Westpac's discretion.

    You must be logged in to redeem your hotpoints for a Holiday Credit - please log in to hotpoints from your Westpac One online banking.

    Holiday Credits terms & conditions

    Hotpoints can be redeemed for Holiday Credits to cover qualifying travel purchases, up to three months from the date of purchase.

    There is a minimum number of hotpoints required to redeem for Holiday Credits to cover qualifying travel purchases which Westpac may vary without prior notice. For full details please call us on 0800 861 862, Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5pm, or visit www.hotpoints.co.nz

    Holiday Credits can be used to pay for the following types of qualifying travel purchases:

    • Airline travel

    • Car rental

    • Cruise tickets

    • Long-haul Rail travel (must be non-commuter)

    • Long-haul Coach travel (must be non-commuter)

    • Purchases made at New Zealand and international travel agencies

    • Accommodation (including but not limited to, hotel accommodation, backpackers, self catered apartment and villas, holiday rentals)

    • Local and International travel purchases through online travel websites (including but not limited to, wotif, expedia, lastminute, TravelBug.co.nz)

    • Travel insurance purchased through Westpac and/or the underwriter of insurance on Westpac credit cards

    • Airport transfers

    • Airport tax

    • Sightseeing tours and overseas tourist attractions/theme parks

    • Other travel related expenditure at Westpac’s discretion.

    Qualifying travel purchases must be made with a Westpac credit card that is enrolled in hotpoints.

    Holiday Credits can only be used to cover purchases that we can, at our discretion, identify as being qualifying travel purchases. We may ascertain this by looking at your card account. We may require additional proof of purchase in the form of an invoice or receipt or other document.

    Westpac may refuse any request for redemption if we are not satisfied that a qualifying travel purchase has been made.

    Once hotpoints have been converted to Holiday Credits, the conversion cannot be reversed.
